X-Ray Information
X-rays only use a small amount of radiation that is passed through the selected part of the body to produce an image. This image technique is commonly used to evaluate the musculoskeletal system when bone or joint injuries or diseases are suspected.
At Reno Family Chiropractic, we offer state-of-the-art x-ray facilities on site. We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have prior to taking the x-ray.
Typically, a chiropractor will take x-rays of your spine before beginning treatment. The purpose of the x-rays is to study the condition of the bony anatomy and soft tissues.
The x-ray is also used to measure small changes in alignment and to develop an accurate plan for treatment. After consulting an x-ray, a qualified chiropractor uses the position of bones to determine where the ligaments in your spinal column have been stretched or torn. An x-ray provides the doctor with a use visualization of the patient's spine so that the chiropractor can make the adjustive force in a precise fashion to reduce tension and pain in the back.
